Red Sea lose to a last minute goal Red Sea defeated Nzoia Sugar of Kenya
in the African Champions League by 2-0 to Red Sea in the first leg in
Asmara on Saturday February 15th. Red Sea has been consistent at
this level and this together with the home ground advantage they the game
swung in their favour. Nzoia has to score three clear goals in the second leg
return set for Mumias Complex Stadium on Monday March 3. The aggregate
winner of this round plays Defending National Champions and Defending
Champions League winners Zamalek of Egypt in the tournament's first round match
on April 3rd. The Manager of Nzoia Sugar later said: "We tried to push them very hard, especially in
the second half but we could not score. We hope to turn the tables in
Mumias after a fortnight. Game will be played on Monday 3rd of March Red Sea 2 – 0 Nzoia Sugar 26

February 10, Uganda Champions league of East Africa Last year Simba claimed their sixth CECAFA Club Cup to confirm their
status as the most successful club in the 29-year history of the
competition. The CECAFA Club Cup is an annual competition held between East
and Central African clubs with this year's championship having 13 teams
pooled into three groups. Hosts Uganda and defending champions Tanzania each field two
teams. The top 3 teams
from Group A and the top 2 teams from Groups B and C qualify for the
quarter-finals. The remaining last-eight spot goes to the best third-placed
team from Groups B and C.
